Viral Sensation and Brooklyn's Hip Hop Artist KWOAT Will Bring His ROCK STAR Persona To The JOCUNDA MUSIC, FILM & THEATRE FESTIVAL, Friday, April 24th at 8pm at ARTEL in Brooklyn
Brooklyn, New York’s native,
independent artist Kwoat, is a lyricist whose genre of rap is infused with
shock-rap and illustrious melodies. Kwoat’s journey began during middle school
at the lunch table when he started dropping rhymes to impress his cousin and
classmates.
Growing up, Kwoat was always told
that his creativity goes above and beyond from drawing, dancing, and creating
music. That observation is only pushing him to change the industries
expectations of hip hop with his sound of music. Freshman year of high school,
he joined a local rap group called Audio Addikits. He became vastly
educated in the art and sound of music, from learning to count bars, working
with engineers, writers, producers and also artist. To no surprise on the rise
of 2010, Kwoat dropped his first mixtape, Writer's Block.
In October of 2014, his
collaboration with President Davo I Don’t Wanna To Be Playa gained over
4 million views on YouTube. Social Media has also played a huge part of his
current success. Having a loyal fan base and 60,000 people across social media,
not only is Kwoat a viral sensation- he’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser. When you
watch him perform you can expect the persona that embodies a true rock star.
Opening up for Famous Dex, Dexta
Daps, and stealing the spotlight undeniably at the legendary SOB’s of NYC and
being on a college tour are only the beginning to the many highlights of his
career.
Summer of 2019 the Flatbush Brooklyn
artist dropped his first EP Somewhere In My Feelings. The EP includes
his infectious single Gerda and songs that you can’t help but to have on
repeat like Rihanna, Come Home. The whole EP infuses quotable rap
lyrics with R&B, pop and a taste of island vibes from the Haitian artist.
Known for his catchy phrases and viral comedy skits, Kwoat not only has an ear
for good music but an eye for colorful, intentional visuals to help bring you
into his songs with his self directed music videos. Recently Instagram
verified, Kwoat is starting to get the recognition he deserves.
