Sean O'Leary's THE ESCAPE comes to the JOCUNDA FESTIVAL'S Virtual Play Reading Series on Zoom, Saturday, January 30th at 3pm EST

The Jocunda Music, Film & Theatre Festival presents a Virtual Play Reading of THE ESCAPE written by Sean O’Leary and directed by Mario Corry on Zoom on Saturday, January 30th @ 3 PM EST. It features RON BARBA as Jake, RYAN VICTOR PIERCE as Michael, MARGARET CHAMPAGNE as Rachel and JENNIFER O’LEARY as the narrator.

The Escape centers on two men on the run, in a time of political unrest and uncertainty, who take shelter in a warehouse after killing a political figure.  They are waiting for their contact from a revolutionary group to get them money and fake passports when a mysterious woman shows up and offers to help them get away, but can they trust her?

Sean O’Leary’s play Reservations for Dinner appeared in Strawberry Festival at Symphony Space in 2020.   Prior to that three of his plays (The Empty Space, The Sample, and Reservations for Dinner) appeared at Green Lit Showcase at TEATRO CÍRCULO.   His plays have also been performed at the New York Theater’s Summerfest, Riant Theater’s Strawberry Festival, where his play Reservations for Dinner was first nominated for best play, and at the Secret Theater’s One Act Festival.  

 

There will be a TALK BACK afterwards with the Playwright and Cast after the reading. Van Dirk Fisher, Founder & Artistic Director of the Riant Theatre and producer of the JOCUNDA MUSIC, FILM & THEATRE FESTIVAL will be the moderator.
